Bike squeals when I roll the rear wheel backwards.
When I roll my bike backwards, or the wheel otherwise rolls backwards the rear hub makes a squealing sound. It's a SunXCD hub with sealed bearings and an aluminum freehub body that's compatible with 8/9/10 speed cassettes Hubs ? SunXCD - Bicycle Components.
It does not make any similar squealing sound while rolling forward or while freewheeling, but I still suspect that maybe it's the freehub body. The hub has only seen about 400 miles of use, and it still freewheels properly with no pedal motion if my feet are off the pedals while coasting.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?

My first thought also was a brake pad. If the brakes are properly toed in, then they are toed out for a stop in reverse.

No rubbing on pads, frame or fenders, and the squealing doesn't happen when rolling forwards. It sounds like it's coming from the bearing/hub in the stand with my ear right next to it.

Shop reference. Hubs can have an outer "rubber" boot or seal that rubs against the axle and shell. These can cause a squeal/squeak if dry or newish. Often only heard at slow speeds or in one direction. A drop of lube at this boot's edge cures it. Andy.

A friend's bike would squeal when he rolled it backwards , too. I put it on stand & could not make it squeal. He sat on it & rolled backwards & it squealed, then. He is overweight & sitting on it made the brake pad closer to the wheel. Re-adjusted brakes & tightened up all bolts, nuts, etc. & it was fine.
