In my experience the forum can sometimes be a bit harsh, but hey ho. As a rule of thumb a qualified question usually gets a qualified answer. Have you considered starting here? Also there is a search function, lots of resources available, and furthermore your local bike shop might be able to help. Based on your initial post it sounds like you might need some professional assistance whatever you do.
