What's your C&V weak spot?

Frames. I love frames. They are the heart of a bicycle. There are so many different kinds of steels and tubing sets. So many different countries, colors. The lugs are awesome. The chrome socks such a nice touch. So many different brands to try and so many ways they influence the riding characteristics of a bicycle. I want to try them all.

I have frames that don't fit me and I'll never ride, just because I wanted to make sure they were saved and not scrapped. I see a new frame I've not ridden and think 'hmm, I wonder what that would ride like if it was built up into a full bicycle?'

I realized this was a problem when I don't have any extra funds to spend on the things I'd probably like to get, like trying out high quality tires, or saddles, or better quality wheelsets. It seems like such a waste when I could put that money towards a new and different frame.

It is a problem, and it is my weak spot. What is yours?

Anything that rides well, in any color I do not currently have.
And Suntour Superbe is the latest obsession.

Classic french (or possibly english) touring bikes. A spot of chrome on them also doesn't hurt. Sadly I have neither, though I do have a Cinelli with a nice spot of chrome.

I’m a sucker for a good frame, too. I have a heavy Puch that I can’t seem to justify selling because its loooooong wheelbase is unique. I have a Mercian that I impulsively bought and have yet to build. My Univega was a quick purchase because it is a Tange Champion 1 that fits. I like imagining how each frame can be configured, and then reconfigured. Successful test rides are my favorite...

My glaring weak spot is expertly built (especially custom frames) from marquees/ builders no one (or almost no one) has ever heard of. I couldn't give a crap at this point about Colnagos and Paramounts, sorry.

That's where I am at also. Colnagos and paramounts are too common. Not to mention prices are stupid high for what they are.

Cranks seem to do it for me. When I first unboxed and assembled a Raleigh International and spotted that Campy NR anodized beauty, I was hooked. From sweet polished TA's to the trusty Sugino Mighty, they grab my attention.
The Ofmega Mistral is elegant eye candy like no other IMO. I smile every time I look at it
