Hi

I bought a Cervelo R3 2013 with SRAM Red gear and I disassembled every nut and bolt to give the bike the TLC it apparently never got.
The BB does not spin smoothly and I want to buy a replacement one.
Can anybody determine from the pictures the type of BB I need ?
Caliper shows inner diameter of the BB bearing in mm.

You could also pry off the outer bearing seals with a thin blade of some sort, flush with solvent and add new grease, then check for smoothness and play from wear in the bearings before buying a new one.

Don’t cheap out, I’d suggest a one piece like Hambini.
I’ve done two R3’ s and when my R5 needs it, it’ll get a Hambini as well.

Looks to me like a Rotor PF4630 is the proper bottom bracket.Edit: Scratch that. I read 2016 which has a wider frame dimensions in the BB area. 2015 & prior have a different version that the left/right halves thread together.

These bikes came with basic PF30 BBs from SRAM and others. The overlapping plastic shells that hold the BB will work in any 46mm opening between 68mm and 90mm. BBRight is 79mm and asymmetric.

I think alot of these wore out simply because the cranks weren't adjusted properly.

The condition of my current BB is so bad that I just want to replace it and not clean it.
I am not a mechanic so forgive me for the lack of knowledge.
AFAIK BBright is the type of BB. It is a standard of BB.
If my current BB IS "PRESS FIT" type (see first link below) does this mean BBright is not the actual type I need ?

A dedicated BBRight crank is also asymmetric, where the driveside crank sits closer to the bike than the non-drive side, and the spindle spans only 79mm between crankarms. If you have that type of crank (usually these were FSA), then that Rotor BB isn't going to work because it corrects for the asymmetry with the portion that sticks out on the right. Essentially, that's an adapter BB designed to turn a BBRight bike into BB386 - a standard for 30x86mm crank spindles.

But many cranks that came with BBRight bikes were BB386, and used 7mm spacer under the driveside crank to fill in that distance. That was the way the Rotor equipped bikes did it. So if you have one of those cranks and wanted to use an adapter BB like the Rotor one you've linked to, you would remove that thick driveside spacer, possibly substituting a very thin spacer. You'd need to look up the correct spacer configuration for your crank.

Otherwise, the BB in your first link is the PF30 that you currently have. You'll need to remove the old one by punching it out and then use a bearing press to put the new one in. Fancier BBs like the Rotor are often screwed in, so you'd need that wrench size.

There is a 3mm thick spacer on one of the Rotor cranks. It closes on the crank but if I tighten it too hard it slides and I think the bad thread is on the crank itself.
Can I just tighten it with a Loctite threadlocker ? It is not not suppose to move anyway ....

Depends. Either it is stripped, or you just turned it too far out of its range and you need to start with more spacers. And you might just have a stripped adjuster ring, not a stripped crankarm.

If it is stripped, you can make the system work with a wave washer on the NDS.

Yes. The bearing is the thing that say RS 64846.

These cups essentially glued to the bearings.

You might want to check some reviews of www.bikeinn.com as they don't have the greatest record as far as having things in stock that they claim they do with very long waits for shipping and bad customer service. A couple years ago I found a part from them listed in stock and super low price that could not be found anywhere else. Did a little research of reviews and found many more unhappy customers than any of the other major web sellers from Europe and North America. Just sayin'. bikeinn website legit - Search (bing.com)

To do what? Generally you don't replace a headset, you replace the bearings in the headset if they are no longer smooth. IS should be cartridge bearings with a number stamped on them, and you match that number up.

That one won't work. The R3 has a tapered steerer tube. The one you link to is for a straight 1 1/8" tube, but the lower on your bike is 1 3/8".

OK. So basically for Cervelo R3 2013 I need these 2, right ?

Upper: MH-P03K - 30.15 x 41 x 6.5 - 36/45
Lower: MR031 - 37 x 48.9 x 6.5 - 36/45

Seems likely. See if you can find a second reference, but I have no reason to doubt that vendor.

Is anybody familiar with an online store called Aire Velo Bearings. They carry the bearings I need from an unknown brand manufactured in China.
Today everything is manufactured in China. SKF nor NSK do not manufacture the MH-P03K & MR031 which I need as they are headset specific bearing.
Do I have any other choice ?

I just noticed that in addition to ruined BB bearings the BB axle is very scuffed. Not replacing it will put load and destroy the new BB bearings.
I wan't able to find any catalog for rotor axles.
The only thing I know is that the axle is 30mm in diameter and 123mm in length (including the hidden thread).
