Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Work in progress.

I got this lugged track frame from Craigslist and had it powder coated. Nothing fancy as far as parts. Did all the leather work myself and it’s starting to look like a parade float so I’ll probably remove half the leather details on it.

A lot of leather on there. Not saying I don't like it, just would take some time to grow on me. Now the white tires, I dislike. Ditto the little figurine on the fork crown.

Edit: I just noticed the combination of toe straps and coaster brake. That's another NOPE for me.

Looking good there. Prolly loose some of the tube leather and it'll look even classier.

Yeah, most of the leather except the handlebars and top tube are going. Ditto on the toe straps, I wanted to see if I could make a pair but they have no business being on that bike.

I originally had Ritchey risers on it but wanted more hand positions, since I hated riding in the drops but love riding the hoods I was going to try the Salsa Cowchippers but had a hard time justifying the cost of them if I didn't like the flares. The FSA bars are great and now I actually like riding in the drops. I regret not getting the Cowchippers, but these have been awesome so far.i plan on putting some 700x28s on it for some light gravel use, maybe some skinwall Paselas or something similar

Latest project finally finished. Originally a State Bicycle Jemson (retired model), bought second hand in a rough shape with rust. It must have been kept outside. Im pretty happy with the result.

Anybody know why I can’t post photos here? It’s says I have to post 10 times before I can share a url. I’m not really trying to post a url, I just want to share some photos.

Hey CBee, try using the attachment paperclip looking icon in the tool bar once you hit "reply".
Once you click on that, you should have acess to your pictures and upload them .

I like it, it’s lightweight and pretty agile. Although, I think it might have an identity crisis. It doesn’t know if it a road bike, mountain bike or nascar. Whatever it is, it’s fun to ride.

Classic. That gearing would kill me, but it's quite elegant.

thanks mate. The gearing is actually pretty ‘easy’ at 79 inches, because it mostly gets ridden around the city. It may be at the upper end of normal, but that’s still in the normal range. Although I do some occasional group rides with it, where I run 61:19, which is about 89 inches.

I think brown leather should be banned from bikes and brown/cream/brg gets death penalty

Added a Kilo WT to the stable. Got from bikeisland.com with blemishes (one dine sized blemish on fork). Great deal. Have a Soma Sparrow bar on order. Going to replace stem and upgrade freewheel. Fits 700x45 WTB riddlers nicely.
