I wish he'd explain the details behind the 16 positions. Is that in reference to the lever travel stops?

My opinion, but I think that description is poorly written. Too much fluff.

Sounds like he’s referring to the thumbie mount, which would have the cable exit barrel and so far have not been pictured. The original Suntour XC thumbies have three positions to choose from, similar to the spring tension hole choices for a rear derailleur.

Got it. Makes sense.

Wish someone would put the same amount of effort into designing an indexing thumbie that one could install custom detents into (like Synchro, only it'd work).
