With the high demand of the Treks does anybody considering to buy other Brands?, is it worth it to wait almos a year for an Emonda SL. Endurance SL Canyon instead .... what does anyone think?. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am sure many people consider different brands regardless of lead time.

if there are many options that you like, but the one you picked out is 12 months out; then 2nd option it is.

Trek is not the only company that is suffering from very long delays in the supply chain due to Covid-19.

Do you buy bikes that often that a long wait puts a big crimp in your timetable?

Do you geek for Trek?...then wait the year and ride what you have now.
Do you not have a bike at all right now? Then go buy basically anything else thats in stock sooner- you wont know any difference as itll all be new and more bike than you need.

I cant imagine deciding to buy a bike and only looking at a single brand. That seems quite limiting and for no good reason.

I wouldn't buy a Trek, so the answer is easy for me. I would consider Canyon.

I never really considering buying a Trek but most brands are suffering shortages these days as EVERYONE WANT A BIKE! It is not a Trek problem it is a global brand problem for everyone. I don't think there are many brands not suffering a shortage except maybe custom builders and even they are probably facing component shortages and maybe are having a tough time getting certain tubing?

I would buy a Trek if they offered a me a Fuel 9.9 XTR for $500 and offered to repaint it without a massive trek billboard. I would then probably sell the frame and wheels and cockpit and buy a nice custom bike and put the XTR and Fox Shox on that.

Out of Trek's road bike lines, the Emonda is the least likely to keep me locked in to the brand. The Domane has the tire clearance and front and rear IsoSpeed. The Madone had rear Iso and the slick aero design. The Emonda is... light?

I've heard dozens of well-documented supply shortage issues from a broad spectrum of bicycle suppliers and manufacturer. It's been discussed with interviews of representatives all over. maybe you were being sarcastic, but it's not exactly "rumors" and has been well known for over nine months that this is a major problem. We'll survive the bicycle shortage.

I’m not sure how to pronounce it.

But it is French and I think it means “No Official Winner”.

No never worth it to have warranties and support behind the bike, a crap old used bike is way better, always. I kid of course. When my Specialized Langster had a bottom bracket crack after 11 years and they replaced it with a new frame, I would say that is well worth it. When my Ultegra Di2 front derailleur broke on a ride and Shimano replaced it, I would say buying new was well worth it.

Yes vintage bikes are awesome but they won't replace a new bike unless it is really old and would be well out of warranty but then again with a new bike with a lifetime frame warranty that goes away.
