Yes, no rack mounts on the 6. You could always get a seatpost mounted rack.

I could, but since I'd be lugging things to work like a laptop, I'd be worried about the possibility of a seatpost only rack fatiguing/failing and dropping that equipment onto pavement. I'd be more at ease with a rack that contacted the bike at multiple points.

Hey all. Yesterday, I bought a 2020 FX Sport 4! No pics, yet. Will be picking it up in about a week from my LBS. Will post pics once she's home. Also ordered my wife an Electra Original 7D EQ in this really nice Matte Violet color. Pretty excited!!

Just got it home! Lighting isn't the best. I'll try and take some better pics of it and my wife's Electra tomorrow if the weather permits. I equipped it with the Bontrager Ion 200 RT / Flare RT set for daytime riding, NCS fenders, Elite water bottle cage, and the integrated rear mount kickstand. (The fenders are a must where I ride.) They're not mounted in the pic, but I also have a Garmin Edge 830 and a Knog Oi Luxe bell. Upgraded the saddle to a Bontrager Sport. It has the OEM pedals (for now).

Hi folks, 1st post here. I searched but didn't find an answer, and think all FX stuff goes into this thread ... so here goes:

Has anyone had luck installing Bontrager NCS Fenders on a Trek 7.3 FX?

I have a 2009 7.3 FX that has since had it's tires upgraded to 700x38s. I bought the larger NCS Fenders (35-45) and tried installing them this afternoon.

Unfortunately, even after pushing the fender as far out against the seat post, I can barely get enough clearance to mount the rear wheel (I had to disassemble the quick release pin to get the tire back on), and there's no clearance for the wheel to spin. FWIW, I completely loosened the adjustable height columns toward the rear of the rack, to maximize clearance there as well.

I'm puzzled because I've seen suggestions that this pair should fit (removed posts since I can't post URLs until 1 have 10 posts, but one is from Bike Forums, sh00k 's post from last year), but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get more clearance for the wheel).

Appreciate any tips for folks who have successfully mounted these NCS fenders on a 7.3 FX (or who have confirmed it can't be done!).

Sounds like you don't have the clearance in the frame to run 38c tires and fenders.You will have to downsize the tires if you want to run the fenders; tires and fenders compete for the same space.

Hello everyone! I own a Trek FX Sport 6 (2019). I took the GAP trail last summer and stock tires on the FX S6 aren't capable of handling in muddy terrain. I would like to put some tires on with better tread. I have no idea where to begin. Any suggestions on how to search for the right size and a good tire?

I am looking to purchase a set of fenders for a Fx-3 disc. Does anyone know if there’s any other options to consider or are the bontrager ncs fenders basically the best and or only option?

The Bontrager fenders are definitely not the only option. In fact, I think they lack an important feature: a safety connector on the fender stays. Most fender sets come with a "breakaway" connector for the stays that will essentially "unclip" itself in the event a stick gets lodged in the spokes or something and jams against the stays. It's probably not a particularly high risk event, but this is also one of those things that really cost you nothing in terms of durability or functionality to have on a set of fenders (the "breakaway" connector). I'm really surprised the Bontrager fenders don't have them.

Planet Bike Cascadia fenders are a good option. They have excellent coverage with their long mudflap extensions. I have a set of these on my Giant Roam and they're great fenders. Note the release tabs where the stays mount to the bike.

SKS Bluemel Longboard fenders are also supposed to be very good. I have no personal experience with them.

I don't know the depth of the mud you were mentioning in your previous post, GravelKing SK (hence the name) is for gravel, you will need deeper tyre tread grooves for mud...

IIRC, the H series has little knobs on the tires, the AW is slicker (All-Weather) and the R series (Road) is perfectly smooth for road use.

^interested to hear what you think of that after a couple months. you ride in the city? sounds like it could be great for safety, but i'm concerned it would just constantly be saying there's a car behind you.

indeed does create a clean look. but glad you replaced them. reflectors are astoundingly bright when caught by headlights.

I bought a 2018 FX S4 after testing an FX 3 (non-disc). Obviously things might be different for the 2019. Here are the differences I noticed:
- 2X10 Tiagra on the FX S4 vs 3x8 (I think?) on the FX 3 with the next cheaper line from Shimano. (I think the FX 3 is 2x9 for 2020, not sure about 2019).
- More upright posture on the FX 3 vs slightly more forward on the FX S4.
