Road going Track bike on a budget

Shallow I may be, but I really like the aero looking Track frames. You know the ones, where the seat tube moved itself out of the way to make room for the rear wheel and the down tube is as thick as you arm.
Intended use is for shorter trips where I don't want to take my road bike, and likely commuting on BART (train).

Problem is I don't see much point building such a fixed bike if it weighs more than 17lbs (My 61cm road bike is an ounce or two over 17lb).
How tough can that be. The road bike is dragging around all kinds metal bits a fixed don't need.

Obviously throwing money at any problem usually fixes it and then there is the budget issue.

Pure Cycles Keirin Pro Track could be had in 61cm (claimed weight was 2041g in 61cm) at $250 I want one... but frame is discontinued 8-( I even called Pure directly.

So are there any other hidden gems out there for budget, fixed, aero, framsets?
Did anyone take on the Pure Keirin Pro design?

Yes - bike weight don't matter
Yes - I could lose some weight (well more than some)
Yes - I'm shallow and regular tubed bikes are light
Yes $250 is way low, lets say <$400 (ish)

But, I want one!

Thanks

Barry

I paid $1,100....
But I felt so bad about under paying for a 17.5lb bike, I purchased new wheels yesterday.
I saved over 1/2 pound with the replacements and only $48.82/Ounce !

And back to the original question, but thank you for playing.

Felt TK2 or TK3 (I think they're the same frame now). Maybe check out Aventon and State. Leader is making frames again too, though I have no idea if they're any good now.

Good luck in your endeavor - you'll need it...

The Felt TK3 @ 17.7lb & $999 - looks like a nice bike. Shape is nice, just a little bit porky. 61cm is out of stock.
The Aventon Mataro @18.5lb & $499 - Appears to be a great deal. But at that price there is $ left to change stuff. + available in 61cm
The State Undefeated @ 16.5lb & $999 - Nice and light, but not the aero tubes. Did I mention I’m shallow.
The State Black Label V2 @ 18lb & $680 - Not so aero, price is good, weight can likely be bettered. Stated weight for frame, fork, seat clamp & headset = 5lb 11oz in 62cm
Leader does not appear to state weights.

I started just looking for frames, but at these prices I can think about riding a whole bike while shopping lighter parts

Thanks Seau for the great info

Barry

Looking at that Felt on their website, it looks as though it's missing brakes, pedals, and probably has a fixed gear cog. Add the missing parts and switch to a single speed rear and you'll probably be up to around 19lbs at least
