31 year old Fed Ex plane looks to be mothballed for parts. Killing time while a group member changes a flat, I rode over to a little used part of the airport we ride from and snapped this. I was curious if searching on the plane number would pull up info and it does....

....history, once a passenger plane built in France

....in better days

are you relatively close to the runways - and if so does airport security have issue with this ?

reason I’m curious ...

years ago we had a network of off road motorcycle trails near airport property - including trails that went through large tunnels under the runways

one time we stopped near the end of one runway to take a break - and security arrived

The security team is familiar with our small bike club and don't usually bother us, but there is no passenger service here just industrial uses. The facility has the impressive name of the NC Global Transpark, and a division of Boeing is the major tenant. Others include a very successful private jet service (Fly Exclusive), several shipping, logistics & aircraft repair facilities like the Mountain Air Cargo hanger where the photo was made.

Rode the mtb through Snoqualmie Pass in WA on a rail/trail conversion. 45 miles and 2400’ on a fat tire MTB was taxing. Tunnel is over a mile - completely black, so headlight and jacket for drips required.

I was on a section of the Great Allegheny Passage trail a couple of weeks ago. It's the first time I've seen that.
