Addiction LXXIV

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You may be familiar with the regional chain of "Bike Line" stores. They sold to Trek a year or two ago, and now are all Trek Factory Stores (I think the owners may have kept a couple Bike Lines in Delaware but all the ones around here are now Trek).

The guy at the bike shop called the bar tape "Sky Blue," I was going to joke that they need to change the name to "Ineos Blue" but I don't know if he would get the joke.

We will likely get our entire season's average rainfall during these two weeks. It feels like when we lived in the rainforest. It was normal there.

We are getting more rain as well, I'll take it over a drought or tornados though.

Do get tired of muddy paw prints, the male schnauzer digging holes to China in the house, the other schnauzer doesn't like to get her paws wet, and the mud loving bulldog is a nasty ho that can't clean herself.

In other good news, there is a "Trek Factory Store" 3 doors down from Chipotle and I am on their mailing list, they emailed a "Father's Day Coupon" for $20 off any purchase. The Habanero has bar tape that is 10 years old so time for an update. I got Bontrager Supertack tape in "Sky Blue" the usual price is $30 so after tax/coupon it was $11.

Did I get a good buy??
Maybe

Because of rains, we're 7 weeks into the season but I've only played 3 games. Ridiculous.

My favorite color is sky blue. That is the first time I actually ever paid attention to color names it was corn flower blue, and I used it as my sky, it was the only color I had, so I used it and imagined it as sky, sky blue.

Smart dorky people like me get it.

Not a huge fan of beer, that's beer right?

Looks like it's going to rain, need to get my walk/jog in before that happens. Thinking about putting coffee in my water bottle.

I knew them well when I was still in the plastics field. And when I consulted after retirement, they were a supplier to one of my clients who had me as a go between for technical issues involving plastics selection and usage. So I worked with them at their facility at their Houston facility on Galveston Bay. IIRC they were formed out of the old Amoco petrochemical businesses. Maybe 15 years ago or so.
