Girl's cycling advocacy in Iraq
40 Iraqi girls biked through Mosul in an advocacy event, which is apparently unusual in the Iraqi culture. It was a sponsored event; unclear by whom but each of the participants was given a bike.

It was supposed to be easy—or at least as easy as making a film about women cycling in Afghanistan, where women riding bikes is considered obscene, could be. As the Taliban’s grip on the country loosened after the US-led invasion in the early 2000s, women grabbed the chance to change the future, going so far as to not only ride but also race bikes as part of the Women’s National Cycling Team of Afghanistan. Women’s rights activist and former athletic trainer Shannon Galpin, founder of the non-profit advocacy group Mountain2Mountain, went to the Central Asian country with a small team of filmmakers to tell their story.

Sad to think what might happen if some of the other regimes gain more control that don't view women on a bicycle or any other activity they think is for males only. Same for Afghanistan.
And there are probably other countries that haven't even made it to this paltry level offreedom somewhat less restriction for women.
