The usual 50 miler on Wednesday. No great pictures, but here is part of our bike club gathering for a ride. We will split off into 3 or 4 different groups.

Managed 37 miles this morning despite trouble with the front brake rubbing against the wheel. I thought I would ride to the LBS and have them check the bike and the bike tech recommended replacing the front brake assembly which took care of the noise it was producing. It was a nice cool morning ride with cloudy skies but no rain. Hopefully the weather stays that way for the next few days. I plan to ride as much before I leave on vacation at the end of the month. I'm up to 300+ miles so far this month.

So what was the unfixable problem with the front brake causing it to rub the wheel?

This week since the AM rides are out I rode with a group from work that goes out at lunch. I rode Tuesday with them - 20 miles of rolling hills - 19.8mph average. That was tough. Thursday I tried again, it was a cooler day so I wore a jacket. This days group was even faster. When they cranked it up to 28mph I was burning up in the jacket - after about 7 miles I was spit out the back, they pulled up and said they were going to do 30 that day - I waved "bye bye" and cut it short to 15. Maybe I'll try again next week.

A great half century today. Had about 5 min of rain, but most of the ride was clear and dry. Small group about 10 or 12) due to the holiday, and several people peeled off early. The B group kept going, and put in a nice 17 mph ride.

The ladybike tech never told me but when she replaced the whole brake assembly, the noise went away for good. I took sometime to browse the bikes they carry and I was just drooling on the Cervedlo and Treks. Rode 38 miles yesterday which I didn't get to post. No ride today as the significant half is off and home.

50 mostly-flat miles, very rural (lots of corn fields). Club ride.
Average speed - ??? Battery on the sensor/transmitter seems to be crapping out.

88 miles from Chicago to rural Lake county and back.
Rode with 3 others, we maintained a pace-line most of the way. One of the faster rides of the year for me. I was home before 1:15 PM.

Just a run ride today. Packed the Citizen folder, headed for Wildwood, New Jersey and rode the two mile boardwalk a couple of times. Not a cloud in the sky.

I rode out to my new job today. I'm 63, and still working--my new job is 12 miles away, which is not too far except for the Portland hills. I need to go over the Portland hills from the Beaverton area to 2 miles north of St. John's in North Portland. The only accessible road is Germantown road, and it is very narrow, with no room for two cars and a bike. Going down it is not much of a problem, except that I get going much faster than I'm comfortable with, especially with the winding roadway. With some cars on a Saturday, it's not too bad. But on a commute morning, it could get hairy.
So today, I decided to go both ways on a small, rock roadway called Springville Road. It goes through Forest Park. I saw one hiker, three runners, and one gal on horseback today. It was fun. But I still did not ride all the way. Mostly, I walked the bike down and up. I found more areas that could be ridden coming up, but it is still almost half an hour to go about two miles.
My total today was 24 miles and a bit. But it was a real workout, and a great ride. Downtown St. Johns had a Saturday Market going on, and going over the St. Johns Bridge I saw a carnival complete with pirates and tents under the bridge. I'm experimenting with the route, and it looks like this will be it. I'll be riding up, walking down, riding over the bridge to work, then repeating in reverse order going back. No traffic on Springville Road through Forest Park, and wonderful scenery. The ride from there back home is pretty good on rural roads, so I'll try this sometime next week. I'll do it only probably once a week for a while, as I will be getting home a bit later than normal.
I'm now riding a Rivendell Rambouillet, and it is performing very nicely. I put fenders on it last night (yellow!), and on the blue bike, they really look nice, at least to me. 'Good thing that I did too, as it was raining for the whole ride today.

We have been blessed with a fantastic summer here in Vancouver, so riding has been great. Rainy season is coming soon. This morning, had a 4.5 hour ride planned. It was raining. Did an hour run, and planned to ride the trainer in the PM. The weather cleared up, the sun came out, so off I went by myself. The views on my route are SPECTACULAR. See the link and click on Hybrid https://connect.garmin.com/activity/13615484
You cant really see the views, but imagine the ocean view on much of the ride.
At 3.5 hours I was getting mentally and physically tired, and rain started again, so decided to call it a day and went home. Total of 95K in 4 hours. Not very fast, some decent climbing in there.

I see from your maps that you have water on the East. Why not ride along there?
36 (s)miles solo today, as is the Tuesday custom. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/2602
Culminated the ride with a routine Dr visit. Checked A-OK! 7 yr cancer survivor.
Got lots of strange looks from the other old fogies in the waiting room. Don't know if it was my strange attire or my sweaty body!

Out and back ride of 30 miles. Was really cookin' along on way out, thinkin' to myself what great shape I must be in. On the way home realized that my great condition was a tailwind, and plodded home. Average time for the mileage; oh well. It was a stunningly beautiful day here in the Nation's Capital.

No. Things just conspired against it. Wanted to get out on the tandem for an hr our so, but the stoker got a new bowling ball and had to go try it out. Then she pulled a muscle
It was a beautiful sunset and would have been a great ride, but I had to go down to Miami to be with my grandson in the hospital. Wont get home till Tuesday sometime. By then I'll be ready for a nice long ride.

20 miles yesterday and same today. After a week off the bike I expected pain and agony, but actually felt quite strong.
Wish we still had daylight after work so I could get some more riding in.
