Synapse Carbon 5 - 105 with FSA Crank
I think I finally have my bike search down to 1. It is a Synapse Carbon 5 with 105. One thing that I am unsure about, however, is the FSA Gossamer Pro crank. This probably saves some money vs a 105 crank but I have read some mixed reviews of FSA on BF. The ultegra is $1000 more but it still has an FSA crankset so I am assuming that Cannondale sees something positive in these cranks other than just money.
Question: Is this something I should be concerned about or should I just get the bike and ride?
Probably just get the bike and ride.

Thanks for the PMs. I have been unable to reply due to not having 50 posts on BF. I eliminated the CAAD10 due to the back problems that I seem to be continually having. I eliminated the Roubaix because I have a Cannondale dealer right here in town.
I appreciate the information you gave me.

Shimano doesn't make BB30 crankset and the Synapse Carbon frame is designed for a BB30 bottom bracket, which is why Cannondale does not use a Shimano crankset on those bikes. I have no opinion on whether Cannondale made the best choice for a crankset on that bike, but I think it would be fine.

Thanks, I did not realize this. I guess I need to look at specifications more carefully.

I have a 2010 Synapse Carbon 5 and the FSA Gossamer is quite adequate. If it is a 2010 hold over make sure it was not part of the crank recalls... https://www.fullspeedahead.com/techne...-Recall-Notice You will love the Synapse Carbon 5. Very smooth and plenty fast. Get the bike and ride.

Synapse Carbon 5 at $2149 has 105
Is the Synapse Carbon 4 worth 400 more dollars
Im looking at both bikes myself . I'm not sure the 400 dollars is worth the ex. cost .
Can some one help on this
Thank you

basically the same bikes but for $400 you upgrade to Rival? No brainer, if the pocket book allows. IMHO.
That would actually be a *****in' bike!!
