How to Wash Sealant Off Clothes
I had a puncture recently and it took a while to seal, meaning every time I put my weight on the bike it sprayed a little more. I naively wiped it with my gloved hand to find the hole and see if there was something still stuck in it. When I got home I forgot all about it and tossed the gloves in with the wash (delicate cycle, low heat dry). The next time I rode with those gloves (yesterday) I noticed the goop on one of them and remembered, but now I'm wondering if there's a way to get it out, especially since I have now baked it on in the dryer.

Latex is water-based, and before it hardens, water-soluble. So probably the best thing to do is rinse it off immediately with a water bottle.

It might be too late, but you could try a presoak of concentrated orange juice & tide (original) then run it thru a normal cycle. let them air dry.

Denatured alcohol (rubbing alcohol) will soften dried sealant. Acetone will do it even better. Neither is magic. And of course some care is needed to make sure it doesn't harm something.

acetone. abrade specific areas with fingernail polish and a scotch-brite pad.
if you find the oobleck resists the polish remover, try acetone found at the hardware stores.

Household ammonia solution will dissolve latex. Not sure what it might do to fabric or leather, though. Any deleterious effects could likely be minimized by rinsing it off quickly once the latex is gone.

A little bit of baked on / embedded latex improves the grip of your gloves, so just leave it be.

Lick your wounds and just be grateful that the sealant didn't melt off your gloves and onto your other clothes.

Isopropyl alcohol is a different thing; that's rubbing alcohol. Coincidentally, rubbing alcohol is exactly the right thing to soften dried latex paint on textiles. If the sealant is latex based, soak the gloves with isopropyl and use a dull plastic scraper like a takeout spoon or expired credit card to scrape the softened latex off.

'Round these parts, denatured alcohol is Ethanol (drinking alcohol) with a bad tasting substance added to prevent consumption. The traditional denaturing additive is Methanol, which has the wonderful side effect of being extremely poisonous.

if you smear the sealant over the entire pair of gloves, it'll become those mechanix gloves!

Find some more latex in different colors and splash some on your gloves, then throw them in the dryer to set the “stains” in. You’ll be attempting to make your cycling gloves a work of art like these Phil Wood products. Btw, their 50th Anniversary wheel set just came out.
