To the Plus tire riders
I'm wondering if you're using tires that are either 2.6", 2.8" or 3.0", do you ever feel rocks hitting the rims or if you're hitting potholes? In other words, what is the minimum tire size at which you would not hit your rims?

Run the proper psi for your weight, trail and riding style. No issues.

I am 175lbs. I run 2.3s at 22/27 psi (front/rear) on a 140mm FS bike and don’t get rim strikes.

I'm 185, run 2.8 inch tires at ~20 PSI. No strikes yet. I can feel the tire roll on the sidewall if I drop the PSI below 17.

You can go lower than you think, especially tubeless. I still blink though when I hear people say "twelve psi," I guess that's with a tougher carcass. 20 is really low on my pump's dial and I don't assume it's remotely accurate, that's where I aim.

2.8s on a hardtail mtb. Locally on dirt singletrack with some tree roots for obstacles, I've run as low as 15 but usually end up at 20. (About 170lbs rider plus gear). Rode a bit in Moab earlier in the month, ran 23-25 psi and felt I could have gone lower. Plenty of opportunity for rim dings there but never got one. My riding isn't super aggressive though.
