That's backwards. To buy a dollar, a European pays 89 Euro cents. To buy a Euro, an American pays $1.12.

Briefly resurrecting this dead thread. I saw one bike at NAHBS wearing a Metrea group. It had the flat bar controls, not the bullhorn brifters. The set is really attractive in person. I think the paint is a shade of really dark blue, not total black. Many of the accents seem to be forged in and painted, not the decals they appear to be in photos.
Metrea is still available from Europe but seemingly never launched in the USA, spawned any downmarket groups or competitors. It still looks overpriced for its weight, but not for its style, and I wouldn't mind owning it.

I love this. It would probably cost more than my whole bike to convert, but I really really really want a 1x groupset. I have a triple at the moment, and I leave it in the middle chainring 99.9% of the time. I think I've used the big ring once, going down a huge hill. The top gear in the middle ring is over 26 mph at 100 rpm, which I rarely hit anyways. A 1x would be perfect. Alas, groupsets are super expensive, and this one seems to be unobtainium anyways.

Meh on Metrea.. Marketing is aiming at those half my years.... smoke that credit score..... Spend ..
A more lucrative market for fitness & nice city bikes , does focus their selling to Europe,, naturally ..
