I feel like I need something racy. All of the stuff I've purchased since loosing weight are monochrome and understated. I think I need something which serves notice to the guys on the group ride that I am not going to be the last to the to of the climb. I might not be first to the top but you are going to have to work to pass me.

The linked webpage is as pretentious as the Velominati, without being half as funny. But otherwise, sounds like a rip-off of “the Rules”.
By the way, ultra style-points for pairing, say, US Postal bibs with a Discovery jersey. Or better: 7-Eleven jersey with Motorola bibs.

All y'all are wrong!
People who try to look good do so because they want to feel good about and impress themselves, and other people will notice whatever they happen to be attracted to or repelled by, or whatever is markedly non-conforming. If the two ever have anything to do with each other, its only by accident, but people tend to be attracted to those who feel good about themselves, and are indifferent to those who are indifferent.

Can’t get action in a brothel with a fist full of $50’s so we discuss base layers and play fashion Barbie while working out.

A Matter of Style: Looking Good on the Bike
Earlier I read the OP and a few early posts, and this morning I read a few posts from the end of this thread forward, including yours, @kbarch. Though I wear bike shorts and clipless shoes, my tops are scrub shirts, distinctly "fredly." (link).
Nonetheless, I do agree with your premise. My wife and I go out on Saturday nights, to include dinners at various nice restaurants. She wears a dress and I wear a blazer and a (self-tied) bowtie. The other patrons are usually well-dressed casual, and we frequently get special recognition and unsolicited compliments from the staff or other diners.
Not our intention, but a nice side benefit.

Men might notice some women.
Women might notice some women. Women tend to dress for other women in that hope.
But, in general, most people don't notice other people.
And no one notices men.
However, if TH wants style ... here ... someone might notice that!!

For the record, I can't get her to express an opinion about how I dress. She always says she'd rather I spend my effort taking care of the bikes than on my clothes.

Who cares about fashion when you are outputting 400 watts consistently?
Actually i I always believed in the saying Look Good Feel Good. Not saying I’m fashionable but I’d rather not look like a clown if possible. Hard to do in tights and I like to wear the plain cheap $20 kits you get from China not the fancy designer jerseys I see others in.
