This looks cool:

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/4325300048.html

61.5cm(CtoC) Griffon Road bike
Late 70's Classic steel road frame hand built by Jim Holly while building frames in Santa Monica
Mix of Suntour drivetrain, Sugino crank, Modolo brake calipers.
700c Matrix Titan rims on Shimano hubs.
Doesn't to appear to have any dents, but many paint scratches(paint was originally done well , but fragile).
Would make a good "Rando" style bike requiring fender eyelets, long reach brakes, and longer chain stays.

this made me grin; judging by his definition of 'sword' and 'antique' i'm guessing if asked he would say the chainring is some kind of far-east throwing weapon >_<

That is a fantastic bike, Ishiwata 022 tubing was a hidden gem of any tubeset on the market, very strong and stiff which made for a lively experience. The 412 is a sport not a racing frame but felt like a racing frame. Not sure if that bike has all the original components or not, but if it does and the bike is in excellent condition it's worth the asking price...of course alway make an offer a bit less than what's being asked for. It does appear that at least the gear cluster is not original because that cluster is more of a racing set of gears instead of the almost touring range of the original, but that's not a big deal.

Handmade 1976 Jack Taylor Marathon racing model tandem - $850 (Okemos, MI)

more ads by this user

Our handmade 1976 Jack Taylor Marathon (was their racing model) tandem has to go to make way for another very special pair of bikes I've just learned of (sorry, not telling). This fits me (6 ft) and my wife (5'3") very well. Would be happy to provide accurate measurements upon request. Will swap over the original rear Stronglight crankset. Funky saddle is gone; the Turbo saddle in some of the pics is not included; have several others you can choose from. https://s1203.photobucket.com/user/fl...aylor%20Tandem

Yes it's not all original sadly but rides like a dream (handles much more lively, like a single than other vintage tandems I've ridden).

$850 obo. Would prefer local pickup. Shipping would be extra plus $50 for packing materials/ labor. Will be properly packed at our campus bike shop.

Its been on for a while, and its a bit older ad.
Small town so hopefully it hasn't been snatched up yet.

Still in a long, long discussion with Mrs. Gomango about this bicycle.

Consolation prize on this beauty is my ability to order my own in a couple of years.

That MAP though would cover three of my bikes, no problem.

Very tempting! But, I just bought something else last week. And, I'm still not sure what my optimum size in 650b is. Very, very cool...
