If you're having issues with falling out, use nylock nuts

I'm pretty sure they are made of cheese.
I've never seen a Wald basket with hardware that stayed put.
Self locking nuts & new bolts from the helpful folks at Ace Hardware is what you need...& a drop of Loctite wouldn't hurt.

got any left? maybe take one to the local hardware store & ask someone to help you get something as close as possible. & yeah, nuts with locking nylon inserts are good

apparently you can buy hardware online. sorry if there are some duplicates

Anything that fits in the hole in the bracket, with a washer and a nylock nut. Your local hardware dealer will appreciate the business.

For the big holes at the bottom of the basket legs, the intention is to fit over 3/8" solid axles. The big nuts that hold the wheel on will also hold the basket legs in place. For the small holes (if it has them) the same bolts that hold bike racks and/or fenders in place will work. It's not the basket that cares, the bolts have to fit the rack mounts on your bike. So a bike shop, or bike co-op, not Ace Hardware, is where I would go to look for replacements.

I could go out to my chrome cruiser and check, but there's a possibility likelihood I changed out the OEM hardware for something different in the past quarter-century.

My feeble memory says Wald typically uses 10-32 screws and nuts for fastening hardware. If replacing the original stuff, I'd recommend using M5x0.8 bolts and nylon-insert nuts.

Even though I go nuts for solid axles on most of my bikes (slightly-more theft-resistant), on the bikes with Wald baskets I fasten the vertical supports to the fork/dropout eyelets using M5 bolts and small fender washers.
