Mounting a Supernova E3 Tail Light
I have a Supernova E3 Tail Light (see bottom photo) that I want to mount on my Civia Hyland rack. The light has a pair of horizontally oriented holes 50mm apart. The problem is that it has a wire coming out of the back (at the center) that's really thick. It tapers down farther out, but it's so thick that I can't get it through the hole in the rack or the hole in the bracket that has the 50mm spaced holes to hold the light.
Has anyone mounted one of these lights on a rack? If so, did you shave down the coating at the base of the wire connected to the housing? Or did you find some other way to attach the light?

Not me but I've seen this problem solved by
(a) getting longer bolts and nylon or metal sleeves/spacers -- basically to offset the back of the light from the mount as needed
or
(b) getting some p clamps and a plate to create a custom mount
