WTB: 3TTT bars & stem, or alternatives?

EDIT: Still looking for bars, see post #9
ANOTHER EDIT: looks like I've found the bars wanted.

For the 1974 Legnano project (see other topic in C&V), the bars are badly scraped on surfaces flanking the stem, and at some point a tall Nitto stem subbed. Gotta go.

Looking for correct-era 3TTT (Record) stem, and bars, to fit. Prefer under-100mm stem length but not 100% deal-breaker. I have narrow shoulders and could probably ride any width bars but 40cm might be ideal. What do you have? Dirty and needing polish is fine, minor scratches OK.

In the case none are available, I could consider something else, like Cinelli, Fiamme, what-have-you?

I have a 95mm 3TTT Model 1 Record stem with the Italian flag and gold triangle decal on it that I intend to sell here but I haven't found the time to get all my photos taken yet. The decals are in good condition and sticking nicely but folks make excellent replacements that would go along with a nice buffing if that's your plan. I can take pictures today and post them here if you're interested at $45 + shipping. Cheers!

Uh, that sounds like it might be an exact match!

Looks good. I should have read closer, that's the stem, but not the bars. Viable, but I am still watching!

Fair enough, sorry; I'm always caught in WTB's between pulling the trigger on an offer too soon, or waiting too late.

Looks like I might need to go to eBay but if anyone has a set of the bars, still interested!

Sure, put up a photo. Not sure what model this is that I took off, and the center section is so badly marrded there's no sense in me trying to photograph it for a guide. The NDS side shows three T's in a lozenge, below that five interlocking rings, and next to all that a big 3. The DS side... I cannot make out anything!

Basically, I'd like it to be 1973 +/- appropriate, so no modern odd angles in the drops, no indents for routing cable, silver and not gray or black. Does that help?

I've been looking at a google search for images so see if I can match it up, that includes Velobase, so far there really are not that many closeups of the bars' center sections.

I might have what you’re looking for. These are the first version 3ttt record bars as shown on Velobase.

They have the large “3” , with the “ttt” and an oval circle around it, and the 5 circles in the Olympic pattern.

I had purchased these for my Frejus project, but another nicer set came along. There are some small scuffs in the area of concern, where it shows, but in my estimation, they’re quite presentable.

Let me know if you’re interested.

Kurt

Couple additional photos showing the worst of the scratches. The remainder of the handlebar shows 50+ years worth of scratches, gouges, etc., but the tape covers all of that.

Well, that's certainly the logo I sorta see on the OEM bars. As yours are in far better condition. Width? Cost?

And, so I don't mess up again and omit anyone, I'll stall a bit to see the pair that Piff mentions.

If memory serves I paid $80 for them. I’ll take $65 plus the freight to you.

I will check on the width when I get home, but believe they’re 38 or 39,whichever was the most common back then. Wider bars from that time period seem to be pretty rare.

Edit: just got back. They measure 38 cm center to center

No worries, I wouldn't have taken it badly

Here's the bars. There's a small pinhole, about 3mm diameter, drilled into the bar end of the left hand side on the bottom, about 5mm in. No cracks, or undue weirdness with the bars. Not sure why someone put a hole there, but I rode them and they were fine.

They're size 43.

Thanks-- condition looks good, and Velobase says "1970's". Cost?

Anyway, it looks like, thanks to Piff, I have bars coming. Thanks, everyone!

Good-looking bars but, alas, cost was a consideration. (That said, possibly freight savings if I had simply driven down to S. MD to pick up. Or maybe not) Regardless, thanks!

No worries. As long as you’re happy with what you got.
Looking forward to seeing the final product.
