Beautiful frame. I love the color and seat stay treatment. Probably too big for me, but others may be curious...

Top tube length and rear spacing?

For more than a decade I've kept a photo of an Appel shuffled away in my folders full of inspirational bikes on my desktop. Lovely frame, indeed! Congratulations on the prompt sale. I saw it go up on eBay a couple weeks ago and had stopped in to admire it.

Mike Appel built these after he left Trek (for a while) in the early '80s. All I know is he stopped building independently and returned to Trek as a high-end painter. I met Mike a couple years ago, he bought a CF seat post from me via craigslist. Approachable fellow, but I didn't want to grill him on his (or his business's) history.

Something of a grail bike for me, since he built them here. And that one ^^^^^ is my size, and a favorite color. How did I not see this initially? I probably wouldn't pay to ship one of these, but if one came up locally.....
