25.4mm mtb stem with 26mm road bars?
the clamp and bars are not loose at all, and if i tightened all the way the bar will dent.
is there an issue with this?
didnt want to order a new stem for a beater bike.

I'm with AEO. It causes reduced grip and can possibly damage the bar... which could in turn cause damage to your teeth.
