Wanted R2D2 as that was my lifelong nickname but already taken and several variations of it,

The folks around here call me Joe The Bike Man so I shortened it to JoeTBM

Cheers

In general I know a fair amount about a lot of crap, but have also been accused of being skilled at B.S. as needed.

People started calling me "Mr. Rodgers" when I was a kid because I apparently talk like Fred Rodgers did. It must be true because when I went from one station to the next in the military, I would be called that by those people as well.

I was a fanatic about riding, bicycles and motorcycles, so I was the ultrarider.

Now just bikes, but the name stuck. 7 is my lucky number.

My current ride is my old Trek 930. Once I get it put back together. It's been in storage for about 15 years(!)

It simply means I'm "Barry" but apparently not the only Barry around.

Just thought I'd stop by and say Hi.

BTW - Any 50+ reasonably (read slow) paced rides in the SF Bay Area?
I'm over in the East Bay, Concord.

Years ago I entered a triathlon. When I was putting my bicycle, a Pinarello, into the transition area, being very early and one of the first there, a lady official went out of her way to tell me I had a loose chain! I had to explain to her a derailleur. She was new at her job.

Mine comes from a Jerry Clower story.

Two pulpwood loggers get laid off And go to the unemployment office. The counselor calls the first one into the office. After awhile, he come out and tells his buddy he got a job paying $100k per year.

The second guy goes in the office and the counselor asked him what he did for a living. He told the counselor he cut pulpwood. The counselor said they didn't have any work for him. He asks why his buddy got a job that paid $100k and there was no work for him.

The counselor said the first guy claimed to be a pilot. The second guy says that's right, I'm the cutsit and he's the pile it.

Since I'm not a pilot, I'm the Cutsit.

Just what it says.
I am convinced that riding has kept me out of a wheelchair for at least 40 years.
(Doctors told me when I was 8 that I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was 25. I'll be 65 soon, and I still ain't in one of those curst things.)

User name is 2Wheels4Ever.

I love riding motorcycles and bicycles. I have been riding 40+ years and will keep riding until I can’t balance them. Then I’ll change my name to 3Wheels4Ever!
