seems like sprinters have the genetic traits to make them pretty boys, but they will nevr see the podium of any tour, while the climbers get the shaft in the looks department but dominate stage races. interesting trade off. maybe ill pst this in the genetics thread that was all the rage a week or so ago

Sorry ... pretty boy Basso pretty much kills that theory dead. I'm a heterosexual male and even I find him attractive.

Sort of befuddled by this thread...For starters, looks has little to do with ability..
But, look at almost any cyclist approaching the finish line..Almost all winners look like they have on their sex face. Whether they have 'pretty faces' or not.
Sex faces are never flattering.
a ps...To win a stage in the TDF..Maybe they are sex faces...?

It's all in fun.

I'm sure we could start a thread called "ugliest bikeforums.net members" and I'd be right there at the top.

Admiting you have a problem is the first step.

I think I'm on the wrong forum. I didn't think this was a 'boys look at boys' pageant forum. See you ladies.

After reading 'A Significant Other' I think it would be soo cool to expereince a TDF just once in your life...( As long , As I knew I would not get hurt..)...The experiences you could tell your grandkids...
So, just to be there, I would be willing to exchange places with the next to closest , ugliest man in the peolton- for just one TDF alone...Just 30 days...With his accomplishments, bet he would not trade places with just anyone else either.
My training , that is the only means I have available to get a chance to measure my quads with a yardstick.
To have a chance to experience what pros call 'legs' ; who cares what your face looks like- for just one month...So looks is not everything in this lifetime. Guess, the nature of the topic, sort of mildly grates on me, even if it is just in fun...
