If Lance does not ride in the tour this year, who will the team be riding for? If they don't think they have a GC rider, do you think they will concentrate on willing the Team Classification?

But then, knowing how professional that team is, they will probably know if they have a rider capable of GC before the race even starts.

Yes, Popo would be their man since Salvodelli will be leading the team for the Giro. Popo could get top fifteen I think.
I am looking forward to the Giro far more than the other two GTs so far. A Cunego-Basso-Salvodelli battle? I can't wait.

I heard something about them wanting to get Basso... Maybe just a rumor, but I'd assume if they got him, they'd ride for him.

They wanted him, as did everyone else, but they didn't have the bank, especially since I suspect Floyd would've been first in line.

He is a winning caliber stage rider right now, so why waste 2 years supporting Armstrong and wait for him to retire to step up and become a leader... BTW, Discovery would easily pay him more than his current salary at CSC, if he decided to switch teams... My 2 cents...
