So... really, why does it have disk brakes? (The drum brakes on my Strida 3.2 are fine)

Agreed - I'm guessing discs cost less, as they are more common.
The 5 spoke wheels do look the biz tho', think I prefer them to my 12 spokers
I guess these bikes will eventually reach UK in 2012 :-)

The Strida is finally come down in price skyrocketing from $395.00 to $800.00 in just four years. I was expecting the Strida 6 to pass $1,000.00 USD but this is not going to be the case. To be honest, it's been a LOOOONG time since I seen a Strida on the streets. Those $800.00 dollar Strida 5's are not selling in this economy and people took their money and bought Dahon and Brompton.
I'm glad they are finally dropping the price because it would have been a shame to see the Strida discontinued due to lack of sales.

I hate to resurrect some old thread but it reduces spam, does any know of any place that will sell the strida LT nylon wheel without the bike?? I've been looking for this cause I hate fixing spokes on my strida 5 and this would be a neat change of things cosmetically too.

the plastic wheels on the strida3 were one of the worst things about the bike after the super flexy bottom bracket housing and crude belt tensioning system. there was virtually no bead on those plastic wheels so it was incredibly easy to blow a tire off the rim with even the slightest overinflation, plus one of the four rims on the two bikes I had was defective so the tire came off that rim all the time.

Yeah but this is the strida LT wheels. they actually have a alloy rim on those nylon wheels so you can pretty much put some 80+ psi tires on them without the bead coming out. The LT wheels are much better than the strida 3 ones.
