1981 Raleigh Professional Mark V
Apologies for cross-posting.
It’s time to let this supremely comfortable classic bike go to someone who will use it.
According to On The Drops, "many consider the Mark V the best of the lot overall for its handling and build quality."
Built with Reynolds 531 tubing throughout, this bike is a pleasure to ride. I bought it as a townie from someone on i-Bob and rebuilt it is a road bike. I enjoyed riding it for several months but I always go back to my fixed gear and so this bike is going to waste.
It has a mix of stock and custom parts to the build but stays true to the classic era that produced it. Plenty of patina and scratches and scrapes as one would expect on this bike, but no dents.
Frame seat tube is 57cm and the top tube is 56cm
Campagnolo NR rear derailleur, cranks, downtube shifters, and bottom bracket
Unknown Shimano FD
Well-worn Wright's saddle
SR Custom seat post
3ttt handlebars 36cm c-c
Cinelli 1A stem 100mm
Weinmann brake levers with Cane Creek hoods
New Jagwire brake cables done Fausto Coppi style
Dia Campe Gran Campe brakes
New Fizik Tempo Microtex bar tape
Mavic MA-40 rims laced to Shimano 105 hubs. Wheels are true and spin smooth.
Compass Chinook Pass 28c tires
Pictures here.
$450 obo. Pick up in SF Bay Area. Please contact me off list.
