Sorry guys, i've been too busy putting miles on my bike (not on my car).
This topic has turned into a sword fight.

I would suggest driving a 911 Turbo (993,996,997, or 991) and then getting back to us about how those AWD/4WD buckets of fun aren't "great sports cars."

I must confess that my typing is faster than my brain. I should have stuck to the 4 door statement.

I've had fast cars, fast motorcycles, fast bikes and fast blonds. The cars, motorcycles and bikes don't care which one you ride as long as you ride one of them. They were all fun--but I'll still take the blond!

OP, this is something i am dealing with,
I have debated buying a Porsche Cayenne for my wife, (I drive a lowly Dodge Caravan), and I love riding my bike.
Things changed as a pre-owned 015 Ininfiti qx60 popped up for a private sale. I bought that.
someday, I will own a Porsche ...with a bike rack.

That's what bicycles are for. Cars are for weekend recreation, so they need not be "practical."

My Bells:
The left one is not for a Porsche, but for a 2006 Honda Civic Si. Hey, it's got a whole 200 cc larger engine than a regular civic.

All of that tech and bells and whistles filter down eventually - or maybe sooner? A couple of months ago I was waiting in a long line to get my car back from service, so I wandered out the door and looked at the low-end compact Chevys - some had better feature than my car, including 5 years of Onstar and 3 years roadside assistance - mine had 2 years Onstar and no roadside assistance. Stickers were like $15-$16 thousand. Surprised me, but I guess that is how they compete.
My boss has the 2014 Cadillac STS (SRS?,SES? -- some such letters) that is the same vehicle/platform - for an extra $14K he got a fancier dash -fake wood grain plastic, a slightly redesigned rear lift-gate roof profile, and keyless start. And a Cadillac emblem instead of Chevrolet.
Of course, extended warranty, tax, various fees, paint and fabric protection brought the total on my Chevy back up to about the sticker price.

Amen to that brother. We have 2 Lexus RX350s to do the heavy hauling. However, occasionally, I like to put the bike in the Vette and show up in the C7.

Do you show up at your LBS with a "Please raise your prices 20%, I can afford it" hat on?

I've had two rides where I passed powered bikes, one e-bike with 4 inch tires on the sidewalk (!) and one smoky Whizzer type, going up a slight hill. I don't know if those guys were racing, but I was! To their credit, they didn't speed up and try to re-pass, but it did feel good to strike a blow for human power.

I have a Porsche that is a bicycle. Mine has been modded pretty extensively though so I pretty much offend everybody who sees at it except for my daughter-in-law. She likes it and says it's the best bicycle that she has ever ridden.

Mine just took his older son in to have his tonsils removed and he's still busy as all get out, and families are not cheap, that person has mistaken him for J. P. Morgan.

During my ride today, I passed a 356C Cabrio and a 912.
I waved to both and got a wave back.
They can coexist.

My bike is the bicycle version of a Porsche; but it doesn't have room for an expensive babe to sit next to me on it.
