June 2020 100+ Miles/km Thread

Anyone thinking about June yet? It's been cooler here in North Texas so far this spring than expected. It won't last much longer, but I'll take it while I can get it. I've probably ridden a bit harder than optimal for the past couple of months, so I'm going to leave myself the luxury of cutting back a bit in June. Say, maybe 700 miles?

What about everybody else?

My June Goal will be 135 miles , that’s five miles a day . It’s a realistic goal for me . Hopefully June will be a better month than May has been and I can top my goal .
It’s getting hot here in Georgia, that means getting out there earlier than I have been .

Goal: 600 miles for June

6/01 - 60

MTD 60 miles

Super windy in FL today, and I paid the price......but a decent effort nonetheless. June will probably shape up like May, lots of miles early, then......crickets. It's hot as **** here anyway, and won't cool off 'till Sept/Oct......

And I'll be outta here.......and you guys and gals will all be sorry!! Well, I was 216 this AM at the gym, so I'll be around for a while. I've been as heavy as 234, and probably won't get below 190 without starvation. My problem.....I have NEVER, EVER dieted in my life. My savior is the bicycle!

Speaking of which, my Bianchi Infinito CV Di2 is arriving at the dealer up in MD very soon, so another horse to ride!! I should invest in Shimano stock, as this'll be my 3rd bike with Di2. I may take the plunge later this year on SRAM Red eTAP AXS........dunno............

06/01 - 16.3 miles

MTD: 16.3 miles
GOAL: 700 miles

I didn’t get a morning ride in because I had to go into work a couple of hours early. Moved about 7,000 pounds of steel and was pretty wiped out. Didn’t feel like riding tonight but managed to get out for just over an hour. And I recorded my best 1 hour power output on the road. Weird. I have lightened up ride intensity over the past month, so who knows?

Shooting for 400 this month and think I can get there with some effort.

6/1 11mi to start things off. Can't ride this evening as I'd planned since the county enacted an 11pm curfew for the night due to the threats of rioting and violence.

Hawthorne Trail. Literally ran out of battery juice on the way out, so most of the ride was single gear! It ******, but all my own fault and luckily FL is relatively flat. I've become so complacent with Di2 that I simply forgot to charge the battery for weeks on end.

My goal for June is 150 miles. Its been a tough year my mother past away on Feb 14. That same week my wife found out she had breast cancer. My wife had surgery and every thing looks good. She has 2 more radiation treatments and she is all done. So I'm going to try to get riding again. We both went for a ride Saturday and did 8.5 miles.

My wife was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer on 13-Jun-2014. She did relapse once, but is in remission now and living life as best we can. I lost both parents in 2018. My advice is to get out there on a bike, however many or few miles you guys do! Best wishes.........

Not off to a great start for June, yesterday's ride was 20 miles and 3 flat tires. I called it a day. Today was just a couple of commutes. And foot surgery's a week from tomorrow. Getting it while I can.

6/1: 20.7
6/2: 15.6
