My Pacific Reach Racing not for racing
Hi guys, greetings from China!
Since I have got another road bike, then this PACIFIC REACH RACING has no more chance for road use.
Instead of idling in garage, it is now modified into a daily commuter.
Wider tires and full suspension provide a comfortable ride; Brompton basket bag makes it more practical.
However, it is still a decently fast bike~
I know it may look weird, but I hope you like it~

Beautiful bike. I just plain like this line of bikes. I've been waiting for some personal issues to clear up, but I've been pondering the purchase of the Pacific Cycles Reach GT as a present to myself. What size 451 tires did you put on and what pressure are you running them at?

Any link/reference where I could get it?
How stable is the bracket + plate you seem to have added?

My REACH is an old model, maybe 2011. The size of the wide tires it has now is 37*451, or 20*1 3/8.
I have tried. This is the widest. Any wider tire will probably conflict with the forks.
I prefer high pressure on road, but for country road commuting, 70 psi feels more comfortable.

it seems you are more interested in the luggage block, rather than the bike.
You may be also happy to see this:
There is another foldy of mine. It has a similar but different solution of installing the Brompton luggage block, and also the Tern luggage truss.

I run 45-50/65-75psi on 37-451 tires. I weigh about 75kg. FWIW.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks!
Yes, because it's an easy solution to use a Brompton bag on a bike that has no welded lug :-)
Am I correct in understanding that you added a flat panel to connect the bracket and the Brompton block?
Edit : is it sturdy and stable, even with the additional plate?

Do it. I PMed you where to get a Reach GT and price in Taipei a couple of months ago...BTW, the blue turquoise of the Reach GT looks betrer in images than in reality. Black is probably the way to go. YMMV.

By the way, let my experience be a lesson to all. Lather up/cover up. I'm a dark skinned man who always covered my arms & neck, but hated putting stuff on my face, so now I'm paying the price.

So far, I have transported 4 bottles of wine/ a laptop with adaptor plus some books/ a watermelon/ a fox terrier dog with the basket bag, and there was never a problem.
I know it is not a regular solution, but it works.

Nice ride! Not too many Reaches around here.
I have a 2005ish Reach Offroad, appearsto have the same suspension fork but a different frame. It has seen a lot of miles in the last decade.

It has been with me for some years, but not many miles yet.
Now it becomes one of my main commuters, and I do love riding it.

That's a nice bike. I was researching and was interested in the IF Reach (LX) which was discontinued in 2015. It's a true folder versus the newer Reach Racing models which you have to remove the front wheel.
NYCEWheels stil has reviews on Youtube for it.
I contacted Pacific Bicycles directly and you can still buy them. They'll ship directly to your door but you pay VAT, etc. Shipping was included in the price but I thought it was pricey for a discontinued bike. I have a limited budget.

That Bigfish Line bike looks pretty nifty - be nice if it came in more than 3 speed though!
