Concerns decending Mt Baldy rd
So with in the next day or so I'll be considering/attempting the ride up to Baldy Village. Claremont will be my starting point. I've been training up to the Upland turn off returning via San Antonio Heights. This Being my first attempt I'm sure I'll be making several stops along the way.My main concern is decending. I usually see guys riding up Baldy Rd but save for maybe a couple times . I rarely see riders descending. Maybe their returning via Glendora rd? I've driven GR really beyond my skill set for now anyway. Forgot to mention I'm the same 230 lb guy.

If you want fast, descend Mt Baldy Rd.
If you want one of the most scenic, fun and worthwhile descents, try Glendora Ridge Rd and GMR.
You will still climb about 1,000 feet via GRR.
Take your time and stay to the right and you'll be fine.
Go on a weekday and you might not see another cyclist or vehicle for the entire GRR section.

if you decide to bomb down mt. baldy rd., recommending at least ‘28’s. road is not the smoothest with consistent rockfall and general malfeasance.

Went ahead and made the 10 mile climb/descent this morning. What a beautiful morning for a ride! What a blast for a beginner. very few auto's coming up from behind.
