I will be going to the Eagles-Giants game on Christmas afternoon, courtesy of my employer. Second stringers might be starting by then.

Since Christmas seems to be bearing down on us like a semi with a drunk at the wheel, maybe this should be moved to Safety and Advocacy.

I find the older I get the more I become the Grinch. Think about it, he was living on top of a mountain far away from the village and if he could hear their noise from that far away you know it was loud. The poor guy just wanted to sleep late at night, and the Grinch was a stand up dude even taking care of a pet too. xD

I also watched Die Hard a couple of evenings ago. That's as good as it gets.

Since Thanksgiving I've watched Die Hard, Scrooged, Elf, just need to give Bad Santa a run and my list for the season is complete. (I'll check the list twice to make sure).

Ah Christmas. A time we should all give thanks for house cleaning, rampant commercialism, tense family get togethers, watching the children open their gifts and want still more, watch uncle X drink to excess and make an @$$ of himself, getting stuff you don’t want or need, spending too much, eating way too much and wanting it to get over quickly so we can get back to normality. That’s why it’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Merry Xmas everyone!!

I only have enough bourbon so that I can't drive and get away from watching my sister-in-laws ignore their kids while they damage my furniture and carpets. Then I sit quietly on the couch (someone has taken my recliner over) wishing for them to leave.

And this morning I tried to get jolly by turning on the Christmas music for the first time this season. This was what I got. I don't like any version of this but Madonna's is the worst.

Bad Santa is only good if you can see it unedited for language and content.

I loved Bernie Mac. He had great facial expressions and delivery.

I dunno. I recall seeing it in the theatre on Christmas day 2003...After the opening scene, only a few minutes into the film, I leaned over to my two friends and said, "If we leave now, I'll still feel like I've gotten my money's worth."

The Parker's of Indianapolis, they know how to celebrate Christmas. Why, it's a major award!

I think they are just joking.

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

Not all Americans, and it’s definitely not twice within a month!

We usually have Turkey on one occasion and a roasted prime rib or a leg of lamb on the other occasion.

No one forces anyone to participate in commercialism, you can and should do only what suits your sensibilities as we do.
Of course, it does help if you genuinely care about you family and friends.

Well said, and I do not participate in consumerism. I give to others’ favorite charities, or experiences. I do enjoy the time with my loved ones since all of us have the same values, outlook on life and a myriad of other important things. Am truly fortunate to have them in my life as well as some wonderful friends and best of all, no drunk uncles.

I'll wait until mid-week to see what the weather report says for Christmas Day. I LOVE to go out for a pre-dawn 40F ride on Christmas Day as its QUIET; for all practical purposes there are ZERO cars on the roads. When dawn starts you can hop on the local MUP for a while and ZERO bicycles/dogwalkers (maybe a runner or two) to interrupt your solitude.

Best day of the year by far for a bicycle ride.
