Bike was stolen a week ago....

Have this purefix I bought slightly used for 160 bucks 2 years ago
I have a few bikes but rode this one the most, I really like it
anyway it got stolen,
today my wife was on her way home from work,
she takes side streets home,
she saw my bike leaning against the side of this house,
about a mile and half from our house,
she calls me,
texts a picture and it was my bike
I went there.
there was an old guy that couldnt ride a bike
outside,
I said thats my bike I dont want to get anyone in trouble
but I am going to take my bike
if anyone gives me a hard time
I will call 911
So i got my bike back
you can see the guy took a hard spill on it, haha
he didnt know how to ride a fixie,
I am sure he got thrown lol
any way it has 2 flat tires
gooseneck got twisted in the fall
a few scrapes
but I love riding that bike
I will fix it
and ride again (-:

Sheesh! I would have called the police on him. You don't need someone like that living nearby. Just imagine what else he's done around there. He could be breaking into neighbors' homes and garages. NOT cool.

Did he steel it from your garage?

Just noticed you have 1 more post count than I do.

had it on my front porch
anyway I am sure it was a kid living at that house
I dont want to be responsible for getting a black kid
into the judicial system
his mom came out as I was walking the bike to my van
I am sure he is going to hear something from her
I have a bunch of bikes
I have kept one on my front porch for years without losing it
I wont be doing that anymore

Just noticed you have 1 more post count than I do. [/QUOTE]

Glad you got it back. We had all of our softball equipment, computers, and other little stuff stolen about 2 years ago, and never got any of it back.

Funny story... about a month ago I was having a cigarette on the front porch right before bed. As I walked in the house, I heard someone talking outside, so I stepped back out on the porch. Two guys that weren't from our neighborhood (our neighborhood is just one city block, with other neighborhoods around it) were walking down the middle of the road, each with a TV on their head. It took it a minute to click what the idiots were doing, so I grabbed my pistol and, keeping my distance, followed them down the street to see if they were going to one of the houses. They were headed to the woods, so while I was calling 911, I told them that it would probably be a good idea to put down the TVs and leave. They dropped the TVs and unfortunately got away before the cops got there. One TV was broke, but the other was returned to the owner.
Hard to believe how brazen people are nowadays.

Now they're out there to do it again. Good move!

Guess I'm lucky so far since I haven't had any bikes stolen.

Did have my 1968 GT350 Shelby stolen though.

What did you expect me to do? It's not like I can hold them at gun point (or even draw my gun) legally.
Hoping to save the TVs was my only option.
