Black and Neon: The Pinarello Cadore build continues

The cables arrived today, along with the black, suede Fizik bar tape. I wasn't expecting suede, to tell you the truth, but I wasn't going to say "no" to it either.

The cables are from Jagwire's "Racer" kit in Ergon Green. To tell you the truth, I'm not that keen on the Kevlar-reinforced cable housing. The forged P.O.P./Point of Power cable ends are a particular irritant - step-down POP ferrules were included in the kit - exactly what I don't need to fit them to the Chorus monoplaner brakes. One more trip to the LBS for that.

The housings are pretty stiff - too stiff, for my liking.

Kurt, looking good. I have the soft Fizik on a couple of bikes. It is very nice stuff.

Finally, a bike that will look good with those neon green riding jackets.

Is that a Quaker parrot?

It is, but it's hell to wrap, and doesn't sit tight at the edges. Regardless whether you roll it from the bottom up, or the top down, running one's palm over it will result in edge flap.

Looks it. It's a simple, faux, tree decoration though - nothing much going for it in the way of detail.

Looking good Kurt! I like the Fizik tape, but I do agree about the flap.

I like it.
I don't like the Fizik suede tape, I have it on my serotta and it just doesn't work for me,
rolls too easily.

How about the vinyl Fizik tape?

I have the microtex smooth tape on my serotta. It's nearly perfect, not padded, not thick, and wrapped
very nicely. I had no problems with the microtex rolling. I had ordered that in black and got the suede tape
instead and figured I'd try it. Never again.

Not sure what direction you're gonna go for the tires but I think all black tires work best (strange but I dont think the tan walls would look all that good on that build). Nice looking Pinarello btw!

I already have one other with all-black tires, and a second on the way; hence why I've gone for the subtle Paribas on this one.

Looking good, Kurt. I'll have to let the previous owner know where to look to see it when you're done. I'm sure he'll be glad to see it's been treated so well.

Just re-laced the rear wheel and mounted the tire. Weather hasn't been cooperating, so I took a few shots in the workshop:

One of Campagnolo's many cases of insanity: A smaller adjuster barrel than typical - and, of course, missing
