Take of a dropped seatpost!

I have no idea how but it gradually dropped to being 1.5" lower. Never had this happen before. It is a new to me frame.
Rode quite a bit but finally stopped in at the LBS ,where I work part-time, and had another fellow,a fitter, check me out. After a few moments on the trainer he got me squared away.
But!! I aggravated my IT band something fierce. Finally had a visit to a PT yes and sh did dry needling.
Seatpost is very secure and marked!!!

I think your seatpost has slipped down due to not being properly torqued. You need to reinstall the saddle on a post that can be adequately tightened but not over-tightened.
