Did the Brr ride last weekend and saw this old Kabuki Skyway. Looked like RSX shifters? Probably an upgrade in the 90s, well used for a long time!

1 MTB by Rewel, who are Titanium pioneers from Bolzano/Southern Tyrol, Italy. A very very early example at that, maybe even a prototype, with a lugged construction. Rewel is still in business (in fact, its two companies called "Rewel" now... and the wild it was spotted in is the companys back yard )
2 just a "walmart" MTB but i liked the very 90ies paintjob and the fact it was branded Stablinski, who is still very polpular in france. Spotted at a flea market in the Provence
3 Moser: this looks staged but i swear it isn't... had a stroll in Urbino/Marche/italy one night with my good camera, and there it was, chained up in a most pittoresque manner
4 Eddy Merckx 10th anniversary: spotted near a busy street in Munich. I owned an almost identical specimen once (paid a hefty € for it, too) so it caught my eye. Obviously used as a daily ride by someone, a pity, really. These bikes are notorious for their vulnerable paint jobs and it shows.
5 another Munich find. sorry, no idea about the brand it was labelled but not with a brand i recognized (was italian). The pic is very old and this was very bad cellphone shot is all i have.

Not reality "in the wild", but this 1925 Frejus showed up at last Sunday's 25 mile vintage ride. Wood rims, metal bottle, antique brakes, single speed, patina to spare.

This might bring back memories for some. I've never seen a 58 Biscayne. I only run into Bel Airs.

Somewhat off track but worth mentioning. I see these occasionally but this is the first photo I've gotten of one. The rack is upside down. The padded hoops poking up should be resting on the trunklid and bumper while the yellow-tipped arms flanking the license plate should be pointing rearward to support the bike.

I was in a hurry yesterday or I would have grabbed a pic. It was an Ironman mountain bike, yellow/orange. I didn't know they made mtb.

Ike got himself into a spot of bother over a public comment made about the 1958 model year automobile designs. He stated he did not much care for them.
As it turned out 1958 was a poor year for the industry and a recession (mild) year for the nation.
Pundits were quick to blame it all on him...

Thanks so much for sharing this sighting!
Cycle clearly well before the Giovanni Bozzi period.
Frejus is a place name in the extreme southeastern corner of France.
A village with a population of ~2,200.
There is a famous tunnel there through the alps.

Warm day in Des Moines, hit the trails and stopped by the Confluence brewery. A ton of different bikes parked there, I spotted this Raleigh Grand Prix parked close to mine. Looks fully original, tires were iffy looking!
