RAGBRAI 2017 video

My dad and my brother completed Ragbrai last week and my dad just finished editing his video. I think its pretty cool, makes me want to go next year. At the end it shows my little brother and their friend dipping their tires in the river.

What's with all the empty roads? That's not like the RAGBRAI I witnessed! The one I did had bikes bumper-to-bumper and 6-abreast for miles.

He was driving too. He would get up early and drive to the next town, then bike back toward last town meet up with my brother about half way and then bike back. So he had more empty roads then you normally would.

Very, very nice! I lived in Iowa from 1980-1992, and witnessed RAGBRAI a couple of times. It's amazing how little it seems to have changed, and I mean that in a good way: The misty mornings, the corn fields, the small towns and the people, who were so friendly. After growing up in the stress of fast-paced Chicago, I like to think that the 12 years I lived in human-paced Iowa added 10 years to my life.

I really liked the video of small town America, much like the area I grew up in. I liked the music also. It reminded reminds me of an Andean pan flute which is relaxed, smooth and melodic, just like the countryside in RAGBRAI.
