It's news to me. There was discussion of a potential road series beyond the NEBRA trophy, maybe this is it.
Don't use BikeReg as the race calendar, use the NEBRA calendar. Killington is going to happen.

I'll use the NEBRA calendar whenever it comes out. I am familiar with it. But at the moment it is empty and the races in the series in question are 2 months or less away.

who's in for grant's tomb? i don't usually race it because it's so early and i'm a wimp, but I'm thinking of using it as an excuse to visit some friends in the city. it's expensive, but a sweet course.

anyone know what the parking situation is for grant's tomb? coming from new jersey so should i just plan on riding over? tried looking at the race guide but don't seem to have access to it

fuggitivo solitario
park in NJ or park further uptown. You may be able to find parking on the Riverside viaduct, but don't count on it. If one shows up early enough, Morningside Drive usually has parking spaces

It's basically the same as parking anywhere else in Manhattan. Pay an exorbitant amount for a garage or drive around to find street parking. Riverside Drive just north of the race course usually has some open spots.

Maybe this got discussed already, but I just noticed Battenkill (the race, not the fondo) is now one giant all categories combined field with a limit of 250.
... heh the fondo has a "retro" category: "no carbon, at least 36 spokes per wheel, one item of wool clothing."

Yep. Not in the pennyfarthing category though I think.
He's raced it before btw. For years the event poster was a photo of him and another guy with dirt in his teeth.

12F forecast for noon on Saturday, Grant's Tomb will be brrrrrr.
I'm trying to remember the coldest temps I've ever raced in. Garmin/Strava says 32F for that stupid Johnny Cake in the snow last year (or was it the year before). I see 30F for a branchbrook last year. I remember some cold Bethels but looking at Strava I can't find anything below mid-30s.

Yep, the other guy was probably Caleb Fairly. They were in a long-range two-man break, if I remember correctly. This was 2009 or so.

M45s don't get super cold races. Cat 5s regularly raced in 20-24 deg F temps, meaning like probably one week each year. I know this because I'd comment that I wouldn't race in those temps. I'm pretty sure we never saw 12 deg F but for sure we'd seen the teens.

Down to 9F wind chill. 20 mph winds off the river for a dead exposed crosswind finish.
I paid my money but I'm thinking about bailing.
