Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Last night it was me and friends in sewers needing to stand up to a thing that was trying to scare us (but not as a clown). RHR was 61 instead of a more normal 55-58, and woke up sweaty.

I don't normally sculpt my goatee like that; it's done so the N95 has a better chance of sealing.

Yeah, same here. The flexibility and blood flow to my back certainly increased with stretches like that, but they also turned my lower back area into a loose "bag of bones" where joints were floating all over the place, and could settle in all kinds of interesting, but painful positions.

I liken that area of my back to a tree trunk. It needs to be strong and stable, not loose and bending in every direction easily. If you regularly flexed a tree trunk beyond its normal range of motion, would you expect it to be stronger, or weaker? I would say weaker.

It was prescribed for me after my disc herniation because it brings the posterior borders of the vertebrae closer together and stretches the connective tissue and muscles on the anterior side. Discs move in a generally posterior direction and extension tends to stabilize them. It also helped to teach me good deadlift position and to get lower on the bike without discomfort. As all have said, YMMV.

Don't be discouraged, you have to remember people are social distancing in line, so the line moves much quicker than you'd expect.

Only took me 40 minutes last week when I was prepared for a 2 hour wait.

I'm saying the pain's return was predictable based on the nature of the injury, initially presenting itself as a slight 'ping' that fades momentarily, yet eventually worsens and stays for a lifetime. Hopefully your mileage may vary.

Not to be that guy, but odds are extremely small that my vote matters. It's like going for a walk on Strava.

The problem is that a huge chunk of people eligible to vote feel the same way and, collectively, they're wrong.

Leftover chickpea, eggplant and tomato mashup with scallions, cilantro and pomegranate molasses for lunch. It's vegan, so at @datlas would approve.

The microwave in our new downtown space has a reflective front, so you cannot see inside. How dumb is that?
