Paint Wearing off at Fork Crown on Brand New Cannondale Supersix Evo

I just bought a new Cannondale Supersix Evo last week and the paint on on both sides of the fork crown are wearing off. I've only road the bike 35 miles, so this can't be normal wear and tear. I called the shop I bought it from and they said that this is common on Cannondale bikes but didn't offer a solution and said to just bring it it. Please let me know your thoughts on what can be causing this and what I should insist on them doing to repair this.

Thanks,
KT

Yes, the paint has worn on both side on the fork right where it meets the frame. Sorry I can't post a picture. I'm a newbie and aren't allowed attach picture to at this point...

Worn or peeling?
Peeling might suggest a deeper, much more troublesome problem.

It's worn, like something has scrapped against it when the wheel is turned. Could it be the frame causing this wear? The guy at the shop said it was because of think paint, but that didn't sound right to me.

If the frame/fork connection looks like it does in the posted photo above, I can see how too much paint would have the surfaces scrape each other.

Edited to add: Obviously, only if it's in the area where they are closest to each other. Have you tried turning the fork to see if the affected area touches? And have you done so with weight on the stem (just in case something is loose and compresses when in use).

Edit 2: Damn, you have reached 5 posts so now have to wait a day before resuming posting.

My friend has that same bike. If you turn the fork too far it hits the frame downtube just behind the headtube. Dumb design that is trying to be aero.

Which doesn't really happen while riding the bike, but happens regularly while, e.g., moving it around the garage and such. Yep, pretty bad design if it does that.

^^And no obvious solution the the paint wear. Call it a plus. Less paint=less weight.
