Finally, I like my Rockhopper

I bought the Rockhopper last year , with the intention to make a MUP hybrid out it that rides like , hopefully better, than , my old Specialized Hardrock , but a newer version.
I’ve struggled trying to make the geometry feel right to me ,mainly because of my out of proportioned body . Short legs , long torso . At on time I had a tall stem extender on it .
This morning I swapped out my 29x2.5” Maxxis Hookworms for some 700x38c Kenda Kwest tires .
I’ve always been a big tire fan .
But going to a smaller tire made this bike a totally different bike .
Now , I can get on and off the bike without worrying about hurting myself .
And the bike handles like a sports car . I feel totally confident throwing it into turn at speed . I feel like I’m part of the bike now , instead of sitting on top of it .
My average speed with up too .

Thanks , I had just about given up on it and decided to try some smaller ,shorter tires .
Thinking of going 1X on the crank with a 32 tooth oval chainring , make it easier on the knees . I never use the inner ring .
