Classic ride day in Moscow, Russia
Missus sent me this link, post is in Russian and OP should be sentenced to death for how he took bicycle pictures.
But - some cool rides and looks like people really enjoyed it. My understanding it was some kind of vintage and classic bicycle ride and you were supposed to wear period correct costume as well
If you have to have translation - use bing or google translator, feel free to ask in this thread if anything is unclear
odin_moy_den: ???? ********************??? ????...**********??
Couple of rides which I think are very interesting:
#1 - Motorized bike. Power from engine is transferred straight to the tire via some kind of roller
#2 - Vialle Velastic (?), has leaf suspension like seat post

Does anyone else recall the ca. 1960 Sputnik road bikes that were imported into the US?

I was just surprised to see so many vintage bikes enthusiasts. I know of one Russian forum where main theme is FG and track bikes and lots of folks on it are all over Soviet era track frames.
I am originally from Kazakhstan and although it produced fair share of strong riders the actual vintage bike scene never really took off.
I guess because Moscow is huge metropolis - much more riders now and probably way more riders in the past.
Politics aside (and current situation is horrible - I have both Russian and Ukrainian blood in me so double that) - regular folks are just like everywhere else and I am happy to see we share the same passion.

Thanks, I enjoyed that very much.
It seemed like a version of the "tweed ride" without being so precious, and the bikes were neat and utilitarian.
