Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I guess it is OK if you like bread.

It is funny what gets sold out. I know of someone who was looking for hair clippers, but Amazon is sold out of clippers for humans. Dog clippers are still available, so that's what he ended up ordering...

I was picking the brain of my nurse, this morning, as I was getting my dressing changed, trying to get a timeline. The pin comes out on the 29th, and then there is the plastic surgery to repair the tendon. She is under the impression that the hole through the bones will heal while the tendon heals. We discussed a bit and the last thing she said, before I left the room, was this: "By the coming year you should be good to go". I felt faint for a bit. And then, at the suggestion of my sister, began designing a glove which will cover the index finger and palm only. To keep the dressing clean, while I use the hand in a limited way.
So, my question to you is this: Does it make sense to you that the whole process could take 8 months? Had I known that initially, I may well have opted out of the re-attachment.
I guess I should include Heathpack in the discussion

That sounds like a very long timeline. I don’t know the details but I think in USA they would fix the bone and the tendon at the same time. Immobilized for 6 weeks, then a couple months of hand therapy to get strength and range of motion back.

How will the starter survive the standard garage quarantine period?

anybody have any experience with salsa cow chipper bars or ritchey ergo max? The drops slant at an angle. I find that when I am tired I hold my hands at angle on the hoods. One of the guys I follow on strava has them on his checkpoint, he likes them, but says most people do not.

Tell me about it. I have nothing but BSOs to build, and I'm constantly answering the phone. "Do you have "whatever bike in whatever size"? No Ma'am/Sir, I have nothing even close to that.
