R.I.P Zoey. Aug. 2002 - May 9 2023. A long and great life. Born feral under the shed in my back yard, trapped with her 3 siblings 6 weeks later, lived in the same house (with a brother who died in '05), for 21 years. Outlived many of her companion cats. Developed a tumor in her jaw and at this age not operable. Took it as long as we could. Sweet girl.

Beautiful feline. My condolences for your loss.

Had to have one gently put down a few months ago for much the same reason (inoperable jaw cancer). We think he was around 16 (adopted stray).

They're coming along fast! They practically doubled in size since they dropped Friday morning. Nala is being tense and aggressive towards the other cats in the house. we're keeping her and her litter isolated and comfortable in a room all to themselves. We'll take pictures as and when we can.

...perchance thou art cognizant o' this tomus...

Discover the nationally bestselling, true story of a life-changing friendship between a man and his rescue cat, Nala, as they adventure together on a bike journey around the world -- from the Instagram phenomenon @1bike1world.

When 30-year-old Dean Nicholson set off from Scotland to cycle around the world, his aim was to learn as much as he could about our troubled planet. But he hadn't bargained on the lessons he'd learn from his unlikely companion.

I read his book, what a terrific story and what a smart cat to adapt to that lifestyle.

Who else, but those here, would appreciate this?

...when my wife rescued this cat, she was about 7 lbs and that night, she eventualy crawled out of her small carry box, while I slept on the floor beside it.

The box was opened when she came home. As I slept nearby, she wandered away, unnoticed by my self.

come morning she got trapped behind the dryer and was yowling, I reached back there and pulled her out, gently, by the scruff of her neck. She'd messed herself in the commotion of being trapped and scared, under the parasitics given recently by the vet. I washed her and sat her on my lap and petted her for about twenty minutes. She suddenly departed, and I have not been able to approach her...for the four years since.

Yesterday, to my great surprise, and giving me much joy, she finally allowed me to scratch her head and then a couple hours later, to pet her along her back.

I thought it would never happen.

Thanks, and Hi @juvela.

I do feed her her greens grown
for the purpose, and will slide treats across the floor to her, trying to get a goal by sneaking one past her, and I do take part of feeding her. She first bonded or imprinted with Lisa, but it seems that as the feral is dissipating she is more
tolerant of me.

We have changed her diet to eliminate chicken. She has since lost 1.5 lb. She had begun fur mowing. Vet found no medical obvious medical cause yet, but we will be following up. I tried pheromone vaporizer (now at two months) with no positive effect noticed, unless that's responsible for the allowed petting. I initially thought she was just too sleepy to resist me.

"Princess Fedora" sits in the garage-has not seen the salted/brined roads.
A Saab 9-3 manages winter duty.
