Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How can I identify the model of a Brooks Cambium saddle?

This Brooks Cambium saddle was donated to our charity. I need some help identifying the model. It looks like a good match for a C15 online. We will sell it and want to be very clear as to the model.

Thanks in advance

Fred

Duh. Thanks. That’s my laugh of the day, My eyeglasses are out for new lenses and I didn’t see the C17 either in the pics or in real life. I never thought to scrutinize the rivets closer. Hope all the readers enjoyed this one.

Back again.. Brooks site doesn’t show a cut out for a Special. Does “carved” mean cut out?
Is this an old model with the steel frame and logo plate? All new ones show black rivets and a different “rear view”

C17- standard size and all weather top.
C17s- same saddle but 2cm shorter nose(sometimes called a women's model, but it's just a saddle).
C17 Special- a throwback to the old C17 with a cotton top.

Based on the carve, cotton top, and silver rails- I'm guessing it's an older original version.

For good or ill, this supports what the so-called "progressives" say .....You are not supposed to force your categories on the saddle, let it self-identify and accept what it tells you.

(Seriously, six posts before someone made the obvious joke? Is this no longer BF?)
