Wow amazing how quickly a monthly thread fills up! Sorry for the, not so green backdrop, but it's still too chilly to be spring here yet. 1999 Peugeot Dune Mtn. bike with no changes made except the addition of the ugly green bottle cage. Purchased in near mint condition.

That Moto respray looks great! I've been "meaning" to try Color Factory for almost 20yrs now, maybe 2021 will be the year? Mind if I ask how it went for you, were you happy with the results, etc? Cost? DM if you don't want to go there in public?....
Yes, repainted by the Color Factory, here in NJ. It was originally the silver with black head tube and bands on the seat tube, but the previous owner (my father in law) lived near the ocean and there was a ton of surface rust. I went my own direction on color, but tried to make it look like a Motobecane still. (Lugs outlined by me with a gold Sharpie paint pen!)

A very light coat of Proofide or similar, let it set in wipe off then elbow grease and regular paste shoe polish. I would bet it will come around more than you would think.

Alphabetically Green.....
'80 Echelon Odyssey, built by Cherubim: Echelon was DIN's (Do It Now!) brand, they sourced two models from Cherubim. The Odyssey was sport-tour, the Spectra was road-competition. DIN was a regional Cali distributor, and they only did bikes for a few years, so not a lot of Echelons surface. These are some of the nicest/cleanest small-volume branded frames I've seen, whatever DIN was paying, they got their money's worth. These pix and the build are more than 10yrs old, please forgive my overly-loopy brake casing phase and such.
'82 Columbine Sport-Tour: Got this cheapish on ebay from Pro's Closet with a shabby gold rattle-can respray and replacement fork. Had John Murphy @ Columbine build a new fork, then a respray by Franklin Frames. It's a resto-mod-y 1x build atm. There's another silver-brown '82 Columbine cousin, vintage build on that one, but not green, so not here.
'76 Strawberry, built by Mark DiNucci, recent vintage build: Mark torched this barely into his '20s, and I can't think of any other contemporary US builders his age with the mature vision and sense of line Mark had back then. Fork is original, with mis-matched paint, weird story there.
'98 Rivendell Road Custom, built by Joe Starck: The frame was a covid buy for me, and I decided to build it as silvery & Riv-y as I could stand. My brain quickly rejected the 9spd friction downtube shifting, changed to 10spd indexed dt. Front is a TA Alize 130bcd 40t tripelizer, kinda 1x + 24t granny bail-out. I'm debating going period-correct STI, but will probably leave as is, but change out the Campy brake levers for something Shimano.

The Color Factory experience was really good. He's a small shop, very low key, but easy to work with. I dropped off/picked up myself, which worked out nicely. The price was very reasonable I thought - my prior $100 spray.bike experience vs a little over $200 for a pro doing bead blast, 2 colors, applying decals, and clearcoat.

The biggest thing is the consideration it got in the building of the Strawberry.
Dave and I talked at length and after telling him it was a bit small by the numbers but rides like a dream for me even after realizing I needed to up my lower limit to about 63.
So it and the big silver 66 Merz were the test subjects.
He had me ride both on the trainer, first the BG, then the big Merz and then the BG again, each for about 10 to 15 min. each. He said 'huh" at that point and then he said it was interesting that I settled into both bikes the same despite them being so far apart in size. He checked them both with the angle finder again and I could finally see the light bulb go off and he said "I know exactly what to do, I'm glad we used these two for this" and he did.
The Strawberry rides and feels as good or better than either one of them and they both ride like the great bikes they are from great builders.
Interesting they are both 78's, built within about 100 miles from each other by builders that hung out and rode together.

This is the bike that was deemed to have the worst paint job ever, a few years back. It has since been re-painted, rattlecan instead of brush.

My 1977 Schwinn Superior resto-mod. Paid too much for a rusty heap, paid way too much for the paint, paid a bunch more for the first-generation XTR components. Gosh I'm glad I have a wife that tolerates my bicycle habit.

Zoikes! Don't know how well you did on that M900 XTR rder, but I sold one on ebay last year and got stupid money$ for it. Truly clean ones fetch a very pretty penny these days.

I have changed the build since this picture was taken and the late day light does not show off the green well, but this will have to do until I get out and get a better picture. 1985 Schwinn Voyageur in British Racing Green.

I've been tempted to buy one on and off but most folks want what I think is crazy money for these. They must love their varsities as much as you do yours. Next time we go on a ride, why don't you take your steel rimmed varsity and I'll take some lightweight old school racing bike. That should even things up a bit,
