Some time ago I posted about having a changed financial situation that invited thoughts of a new bike, but that I had decided that I really had enough bikes already.

Well, you know how that story has to end, right? All summer I've been musing about a bike for fall and spring riding on trails and gravel roads. I thought about high end and low end, carbon, alloy, and steel, and finally, I made the mistake of deciding to go for a test ride. The result is pictured below. Sorry for the partial shadows.

(Masi 2016 CXGR, all stock except I upgraded the brakes to Avid BB7s.)

Some bikes call your name. Others speak to you. But some softly whisper in your ear the things you already secretly desire.
