Reintroduce myself. I’ve been away.

I am Scott from Tucson. I was a member for 2-3 years but left last year after some medical issues. I am riding again and redoing my old Trek to reflect my new physical needs. I have enjoyed go back through the old posts to see what everyone has been doing. I have much to catch up on. Thanks for all the shared information.

That’s a drag- that’s a cool bike! But so is the 700.

Good to see you again.

Revisit the asylum.

Good on you.

There is a price to pay for readmission. The minderators require a 54cm-56cm frame be shipped to them. For some reason, they want to use my mailing address.

Once done, they'll send you the secret decoder ring and the handshake protocol.

it will be great to have you back.

Are there colors that would particularly please the minderators? Thank you for the welcome back.

I think there might be two that you might not have seen- the 1990 Miyata 1000LT and the 1978 Trek TX700:

How do you like that 700? That strikes me as a sort of answer to the Specialized Sequoia. Really cool bike- probably very under appreciated- at least I rarely see it discussed.

Very nice. You’ve been busy. Great choices. I like my 700. It’s a good bike to age with. I’m hoping to be more involved this year. 🤞

Most everything about that bike makes sense- (except the Superbe Tech RD ). It's sorta similar to the geometry of my 86 400 Elance- a great all-around bike- and outrageously comfortable- but I'd imagine that 700 is even *more.*

My 1973 Trek 700 came with a Superbe Tech RD. One of the worst shifting RDs I've ever used.

Bike appeared to have been ridden less than 100 miles.

Switched to a long arm Shimano 105... World of difference in shifting.

My 1st 700 I switched to a Suntour Cyclone M-ll GT. It worked very well. On this one I wanted more modern fare.
